Eczema Free. How I did it.
I am writing this review in the hope that other people who suffer from eczema may gain some relief and guidance from my experiences with this horrible condition.
The particular kind of eczema I had is usually described as Dyshidrotic Eczema. It is an incredibly evil kind of eczema that appears in small blisters, these blisters filled with liquid are insatiable. You can itch and scratch to the point of nerve damage, all the while hoping to get some relief.
For 7 years I suffered with this condition and after seeing doctors and dermatologists specializing in eczema, it was always the same band aid solutions; topical corticosteriod creams or ointments, combined with an antibiotic medication topical and oral, as a result of the steroid cream creating significant secondary infections.
"For 7 years I suffered with this condition and after seeing doctors and dermatologists specializing in eczema, it was always the same band aid solutions;..."
The eczema in my case was initially in a very small patch on the inside of my right ring finger. Almost negligible. It appeared when I moved to Paris for 9 months in 2010. However, on my return to Australia, and over a period of years, it worsened and more and more I had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn’t just a “condition”, that I wasn’t reacting to “something” exterior but in fact it was holistically related to my diet, also exacerbated by stress. Please note: This is my particular experience, I am not a doctor, but I can talk about what my experience was, and how I am now 7 years later free from eczema.
So, with regards to the Eve bar it was the best product to help me heal my hand because it was, natural, noninvasive and soothing! I found that while I was detoxing my body, removing myself from wheat, sugar and dairy, my hand was, as my whole body was, purging itself of the extra stuff it couldn’t handle (again like I said I am not a doctor, but once I stopped having these three things it went away) I needed something to sooth my healing and cracking hand. What I did;
1. I would make up a paste from the eve bar, and apply it and leave it twice a day- This was easier said than done because I couldn’t even touch my right hand without it itching, let alone rub the eve bar between my hands to form a lather. Instead I put the eve bar in the lid of the travel container and filled the dish with a little water. I would then use a tooth brush to create a think paste, rubbing the tooth brush on the eve bar while it was in the lid with the water. I would then apply the paste to my hand and leave it on. I would do this twice a day. Then I would wrap the hand;
2. I would wrap my hand in a bandage, with gauze pads and lightweight gauze bandage, instead of a glove- I would do an occlusion wrap on my hand, by first applying a non-stick gauze pad and then wrapping between my fingers with a light weight breathable gauze bandage. I chose to wear a bandage because unlike a glove it doesn’t create friction, also there is less stigma attached to a bandage, unlike a solo “Michael Jackson” glove. A bandage is also more functional for work- I work with the public, in a highly visible role and having a bandage meant that people would simply think I’d sprained my wrist, not that I hand a dreadful flare of blistering eczema, which is very very embarrassing to describe.
3. During the month I made sure not to aggravate my healing hand and would never put it in water except when doing the treatment. Because the Eve bar has so many natural antibacterial properties to it I didn’t have any concerns regarding cleanliness. This therefore meant that I had to learn how to use my left hand for everything- a serious lesson it appreciating the fact I have two hands, and it would only be a month or so before I could use my hand again.
"Without the Eve bar I honestly believe I would have hand a horrible time healing my hand, with excruciating bleeding from the cracks of the healing skin.."
It might seem like a chore but keeping to this routine for a month meant that I now have a healthy and healed hand. What the Eve bar did for my hand was to make sure it soothed it first and then also healing it. For months before deciding to make the change to my diet cutting out wheat, sugar and dairy I would often use the Eve bar but not in such an intensive way. I would wake up in the early morning scratching, scratching, scratching, and I would try to make a lather with rubbing my hands and then sit there with the eve until it set. The above process I’ve outlined numerically above is a variation, or the next step if you like, after initially seeing how the Eve bar soothed the eczema. Realizing I needed to step up the amount and thickness of the paste for my hand as it progressively got worse and worse over time.
Without the Eve bar I honestly believe I would have hand a horrible time healing my hand, with excruciating bleeding from the cracks of the healing skin. I have uploaded some images of my hand during the process of healing. Please see attached.
"My hand has now been completely eczema free for 5 months! ... You couldn’t tell now ....before I was always in excruciating pain, itching all the time."
I highly recommend the Eve bar if you have eczema, it is the best alternative to drugs. It is clean, easy to apply and also heals the skin, which means post fact, after the eczema is gone, you have skin that looks undamaged, albeit with very slight evidence that you had eczema. In my case the evidence of the eczema having been there in the first place is minute, with a slight discoloring of the skin.
My hand has now been completely eczema free for 5 months! and my hand doesn’t even show the battle wounds. You couldn’t tell that my hand looked like it had passed through a meet grinder, nor that I was always in excruciating pain, itching all the time.
So, again I highly recommend using the Eve bar because it worked well for me.
